Why masking agents are not that effective?


Most deodorizers on the market today use a cover up action to control odors. These "masking agents" are also called deodorizers, but masking agents contain heavy perfumes and only attempt to superimpose a pleasant odor upon an unpleasant one. Deodorization by masking just covers up the malodors. Skunk odors, body odors, garlic smell and animal odors are considered malodors as well as the toxic gases and odors produced by industrial plants and pesticides. Covering up odors that are offensive to humans and animals, particularly skunk odor, may control the odor for a short period of time but the toxic gases and odors are not eliminated.

Epoleon is a deodorizer that removes the malodors by chemically reacting, counter-acting, neutralizing and dissolving the odors and toxic gases which are unpleasant to humans and animals.

Epoleon is made from fine, organic chemicals and complex compounds that are biodegradable, water soluble, and emulsifiable, important factors to consider in this climate of ecological awareness. The compounds react to breakdown molecules so that odor is no longer present. The product reacts automatically and simultaneously on not just one type of gas but on a wide spectrum of gases from acidic (Hydrogen Sulfide, Methyl Mercaptan) to alkali odors (Ammonia, Trimethylamine) to abate the presence of odors and their gaseous counterparts. EPOLEON REACTION

Epoleon reacts on different gases in these ways :

1. Epoleon and NH3 Ammonium salt of carboxylic acid.
2. Epoleon and H2S Amine and Hydrogen Sulfide additive compound.
3. Epoleon and CH3SH Amine and Methyl Mercaptan additive compound.
4. Epoleon and (CH3)3N Salt of Trimethylamine compound.


After the reaction, the compound turns water soluble,stable and neutralized. Those chemical compounds can be disposed of in waste stream or other facility.
